Mr Clarke’s plan comes before State Parliament this month, where it is expected to be introduced, possibly as a means of improving the reliability of the water meters in Brisbane.
The new water pressure readings could enable rnatyasastra.comesidents of parts of Queensland, which were last monitored on May 7, and New South Wales to avoid pumping out the contaminated water or risking an increased likelihood of severe floods in the future.
A Queensland Environment Department report published on Tuesday estimates rainfall in NSW to have risen by up to 11c since last month’s flood warnings. The water pressure readings can be used to forecast rainfall and flood risk through a computer model.
More than 1,800 people have been warned by the water authority to avoid fumigating their gardens following last Thursday’s floods.
